Erica Caffrey, DDS
Dr. Caffrey has always loved working with children and is deeply committed to the health of her patients. Before dental school, Dr. Caffrey studied music history at Barnard College and gave flute lessons to children. Later on, she pursued her growing interest in healthcare and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University. Given her background and love of pediatrics, it was an obvious choice to specialize in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Caffrey completed a two-year post-graduate residency in pediatric dentistry at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. before beginning her career in private practice. Dr. Caffrey has extensive training in hospital dentistry as well as working with children with special needs. She also actively pursues continuing education to stay on top of the latest trends.
Dr. Caffrey is a board certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She holds active memberships in numerous professional organizations both local and national.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Caffrey aims to help her patients take pride in their teeth and to make healthier decisions. She hopes to encourage families to look for ways to incorporate healthier practices into their daily routines so that good oral health becomes a natural way of life.
When she's not working, Dr. Caffrey enjoys spending family time with her husband Seth, her son Julian and her dog Annie. After living in Philadelphia and New York City, Dr. Caffrey is enjoying her relatively recent move to the Washington, D.C. area and all that the nation's capital has to offer. Making kids enjoy their dental visit is a priority! Whether it’s a 3 year old or a 22 year old I love to see them smile and want them to remember the Dentist office as a fun place! Having fond memories of my visits growing up is what inspires me because I am a former patient! I have been working here now for 11 years! In my spare time I enjoy photography (you can see my photos in the office) and spending time with my husband, two boys and two dogs!

I am originally from Ecuador and have been a dental assistant for 11 years. I enjoy working here because everyone tries to create a wonderful atmosphere for the children and as a staff we are always making sure we have the highest standards and qualifications. I especially enjoy Orthodontics because of the ongoing relationships that we have with the kids and the new smiles that we create for them. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, my husband, my daughter, my cat and now my new puppy!
